Eco Events in South Florida: July 2026
South Florida, we’re getting into the hottest months of the year, and there are still plenty of events going on!
I love proving people wrong, and I had heard one too many times that “South Florida doesn’t have anything going on in terms of environmental or eco opportunities”.
Um, excuse me?!
South Florida, I would argue, is one of, if not the epicenter of climate change in the United States.
(I see you, NOLA! To be clear, EVERYONE will be impacted by climate change in some way.)
My point is, South Florida is doing things to manage the climate crisis we’re in, whether that’s county-wide, city-wide, or in the nonprofit sector.
Even the private sector is involved, just look at businesses like Renuable, the composting business that solely exists to fill the gap that is municipal and commercial composting services in Florida.
However, we could DEFINITELY do more, like stopping incineration in Broward County + Miami-Dade, halting overwhelming development, and giving more protections to our natural areas (to name a few).
I believe going to events is a great gateway to finding people and the causes you care about, allowing you to connect with the people who are already involved locally.
Get out of your comfort zone and attend one of these events, it might be the start of something amazing!
